* RENAISSANCE MAN - (PG-13, Buena Vista Home Video.) An unemployed businessman (Danny DeVito) reluctantly takes a job in the US Army, teaching reading and writing to a group of eight who somehow missed learning the ABCs the first time around. Although the film starts sluggishly, it picks up momentum when the class takes a keen interest in ``Hamlet,'' and both teacher and students learn lessons about life. The funny, sometimes sappy, film is directed by Penny Marshall. (June 10, 1994)
