Before They Call ...

On the brink of President Clinton's summit call to volunteers this week came a preemptive strike of good news from flood-devastated Grand Forks, N.D. No more need to call for volunteers there - "they just show up."

The Biblical Isaiah would have loved it, repeating his book's words of the Lord - "before they call, I will answer."

So would this newspaper's founder, Mary Baker Eddy, who wrote, "... blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good."
