The endings, they're the best parts

The best parts, to me,

of stories are their endings.

And there are so many kinds.

What I guess I like so much

is the whispering sort of way

they just fade off like cowboys

on faithful roans riding

into the sunset. The way they

just sort of come to a stop

but leave you still leaning

slightly forward, waiting

for more, your mind knowing

there won't be any.
