Share the road with an 18-wheeler

Three out of 4 fatal accidents involving a truck were caused by a vehicle other than the truck. Here are tips to help car drivers share the road with big rigs.

* Never pass on the right.

* Respect a truck's blind spots. If you can't see the driver in his side mirror, he can't see you.

* Exit behind trucks, don't speed up to exit in front.

* Don't tailgate.

* Large trucks may be moving faster than they appear.

* Remember that trucks take more time to accelerate, brake, and change lanes.
