Stroller and crib mattress recall

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of some strollers and crib mattresses manufactured by Cosco Inc.

If safety locks fail on the folding mechanisms of strollers with model numbers 01-644 and 01-645, the stroller can collapse, causing falls. Cosco is offering free kits with new locking pins.

Mattresses on Cosco tubular metal cribs can collapse as well, resulting in injury when children slip through the platform's slats. Cosco is offering $25 toward the cost of a new mattress. In the meantime, parents should stop using the cribs or place a flat, 27-by-51-inch board between the mattress and the crib.

Cosco Inc: (800) 221-6736, or (812) 372-0141.
