Golf shoes demand most green

Those cool, new basketball sneakers you just paid a small fortune for aren't, on average, the most expensive sport shoe on the market. In fact, golf shoes continue to rank as the most expensive sport footwear. Meanwhile, baseball shoe prices jumped the most from 1991 to 1998 - 18.8 percent.

The figures below are based on a consumer study of 100,000 American households by the National Sporting Goods Association in Mount Prospect, Ill.
