Six months ago, a resident of Coberg, Germany, bought a pair of white rats as pets. Male and female. You can see where this is going. Last week, animal control officers, responding to complaints from neighbors, found 127 rats in the man's apartment. The rats were busy gnawing furnishings and carpeting to shreds. The resident, informed he was being evicted, acknowledged things had become rather ratty.
