Butterfly kisses

Do names like Northern Jezabel and Clodius Paranassian sound familiar? (Here's a hint: They aren't soap opera characters.) If you are one of the thousands of North Americans hooked on butterfly-related hobbies, the names of these fluttering beauties should ring a bell.

Fireworks and ripe blueberries are early July staples, but so is the North American Butterfly Association's annual count.

If you and your family would like to get involved in the last official Lepodoptera census of the century, visit www.nana.org for specific dates and locations of counts in your area.

This year's tally runs through July 12. Let the counting begin!
