Dear Sporting Scene:

I can assure you that [your] view that soccer will never be an accepted American sport is extremely short-sighted. Soccer is coming on in a big way in the US.

The first wave of American kids that grew up playing soccer are professionals, with kids of their own playing the sport. Soccer, like golf 20 years ago, is accepted as a cool sport in which to participate in middle and high school. Soccer now enjoys what it takes for a sport to become mainstream in our society - continuity and propagation.
