After drought

Tonight we'll build

a coracle: this wicker bowl

to ride the water.

All week it's rained,

such rain we've prayed for,

a rising in the soil with blessing

as it rains and rains.

The willows curl about themselves,

they weave themselves into baskets

to burst with everything

that flows downstream,

that comes bestowed

with rain.
