Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Monitor on July 28 ran a photo of Harold McDougall (right), a former senior policy consultant for the NAACP, with a story about the Census Bureau's new racial categories. We want to clarify that he has consistently and publicly opposed them.
