Keeping Track: buying toys online

The online toy business is expected to grow sharply during the next few years. The current market leader, eToys, is expected to keep its lead, but others are closing in.

Meanwhile, in a recent survey by the American Express Retail Index, educational toys ranked No. 1 in products adults plan to buy for children this season. Other likely gifts, in descending order: clothing, books, games/puzzles, videos/music, dolls/stuffed animals, video games, arts and crafts, and sports equipment.
