The political affiliation of former Sen. Bob Packwood of Oregon was misstated in in the Jan. 12 issue, page 4, in a story contrasting the leadership styles of Gov. George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain. Mr. Packwood is a Republican. The mistake also appeared in the Jan. 14-20 World Edition.
