Children net gains on the Net
A new Web site offers parents and their children the opportunity to create a joint allowance agreement. Simulating a "real-world" business environment, Allowance Net (www.allowancenet.com) promotes fiscal literacy while organizing chores and establishing guidelines for allowances.
Allowance Net uses a virtual currency, called "diditz," to allow children to manage their funds, which can be redeemed for goods and services, or donated to charitable causes associated with the site.
