WHAT: Got the travel bug? GoAbroad's Web site includes directories of internships, teaching positions, study-abroad programs, language schools, and ecotravel opportunities.

BEST POINTS: The site is well organized, offering searches by a variety of criteria. Whether you want to teach English in Korea, study Spanish in Chile, or do a business internship in India, multiple opportunities are available.

When possible, GoAbroad includes a link to other organizations' Web sites, in addition to providing basic contact information, position requirements, and fee or compensation information.

GoAbroad also provides useful travel tips, embassy locations, and health and safety advisories, as well as visa, currency, and other country-specific information.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Many of the opportunities listed on the site are part of umbrella programs such as World Teach or AmeriSpan, but there are also numerous specific positions, particularly for teaching jobs.

Why is Christian Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

Here, you’ll find award-winning journalism not driven by commercial influences – a news organization that takes seriously its mission to uplift the world by seeking solutions and finding reasons for credible hope.
