November pink
After fiery orange of late October,
this brush paints dusk
a shell's translucence.
Surely skies like this
should have migrated south
weeks ago, but this season,
the damp trunk of a beech tree
blushes, lingers
before wading into the dark.
Whoever has secrets to tell,
tell them now:
Who would not forgive you
in this hour of hushed cameo.
