Correction

A story on nuclear-waste storage at Yucca Mountain (April 18, page 15) incorrectly attributed a 1999 review of the US Energy Department's viability studies to the National Research Council. The review was conducted by a panel of outside experts the Energy Department convened to monitor and evaluate its efforts to assess Yucca Mountain as a high-level radioactive-waste repository.
