Tuning in: On TV this week.

The Sarah Jones Show (Bravo, 9-10 p.m.): Based on the award-winning off-Broadway show, "Bridge and Tunnel," this vastly entertaining special presents the African-American comedienne in all her quick-character-change glory. When she poses as an eccentric Latina attendant at a New York information booth, her comedy cuts to the cultural bone. Just as good are her performances as a bag lady, a reformed rapper, and an Italian-American cop. Then, too, her comedy can suddenly turn poignant and catch the heart.

Live from New York: The First Five Years of Saturday Night Live (NBC, 9-11 p.m.): Brash, silly, and brilliant by turns, the writers and stars of these first years brought a new form of parody to television that mocked everything from politics to TV itself. Nothing was off their radar. Revealing interviews with guest hosts, producer Lorne Michaels, and some of the original cast, plus an honest perspective make this an entertaining document of cultural history.

Stone Cold (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): Tom Selleck stars as a resort-town police chief whose community is shocked by a series of murders that seem unconnected at first. And while he is trying to trap the murderers, he still has time to rescue a maiden in distress from yet another villainous bunch.

Frontline: A Company of Soldiers (PBS, 9-10:30 p.m., check local listings): The Frontline team spent a month embedded with the Eighth Calvary's Dog Company, filming the Army as they fight and as they rebuilt Iraqi neighborhoods. The film is necessarily narrow in perspective, reporting on soldiers' experiences rather than those of Iraqi citizens. Even so, it's a powerful document of the military situation in Iraq.
