It's not just for gamblers. Vegas also is trade-show king.

With a new year just around the corner, no other city in North America is better equipped than Las Vegas to accommodate the masses of people who will attend 2007's conventions and trade shows – in fields as varied as consumer electronics and the aftermarket for auto parts. According to Tradeshow Week, the "bible" of the industry, Las Vegas has almost twice as much exhibit space (5.8 million square feet) as anywhere else on the continent. Although it can't boast the largest single hall, its 16 separate facilities easily outpace the 10 in runner-up Orlando, Fla. The top 10 US exhibition halls (by millions of square feet), according to Tradeshow Week:

1. McCormick Place (Chicago) 2.2
2. Orlando (Fla.) Convention Center 2.1
3. Las Vegas Convention Center 1.9
4. Georgia World Congress (Atlanta) 1.4
5. Kentucky Exposition Center (Louisville) 1.3
6. and 7. (tie) Sands Expo and Convention Center (Las Vegas) and Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (New Orleans) 1.1
8. and 9. (tie) Dallas Convention Center and Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex/Expo Center (Harrisburg) 1.0
10. George R. Brown Convention Center (Houston) 0.9
