Anna is a staff writer at the Monitor's international desk, covering global news. She previously worked in Moscow as an editorial intern for the New York Times and served as senior editor of the Journal of International Affairs at Columbia University's School of International Public Affairs (SIPA). Her writing has also appeared on National Geographic, Forward, and Global Voices Online.
Anna holds a master's degree from SIPA with a focus on media and communications, development, and global security and a BA from Tufts. Prior to journalism, she worked in international development consulting, reporting and writing in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Botswana, Tunisia, and Sri Lanka.
