Bamzi Banchiri is from Nairobi, Kenya, and interned for the Monitor’s Rapid Response Team in 2016, where she enjoyed covering both US and international news.

She has a strong interest in making short films, including documentaries, and has in fact, made a few. She also loves being on radio, and has hosted an internet radio show in the past.  

Bamzi holds a B.A from Principia college, where she studied Political Science and Mass Communication.

She loves traveling, playing basketball, cooking and listening to podcasts.

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
