Camilo Fonseca is an editorial intern at the Monitor who is in his senior year of study at Emerson College in Boston. Most recently, he worked as a business reporter at The Seattle Times, focusing on international trade and finance in Washington state. He has also covered metro stories for The Boston Globe, including breaking news, cultural events, and the police & fire beat.

Camilo got his start in journalism at Emerson's independent student newspaper, The Berkeley Beacon. He helped cover the 2020 presidential election and explored COVID-19's effect on campus life, local business, and politics, and went on to serve as news editor and as a managing editor. He currently contributes to the Beacon as an editor-at-large.

Outside the newsroom, Camilo loves the outdoors, enjoying old movies, and cheering on Tampa sports teams.
