Claire is the web intern at the Christian Science Monitor and writes stories for the Science desk.

Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Africana studies from Tufts University, where she was a writer and editor for The Tufts Daily. She is currently working toward a Master of Science in Journalism from Boston University's College of Communication.

Claire grew up in suburban New Jersey as the youngest child in a family of English teachers and she loves a good elephant story.

Why is Christian Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.
