Ghada Abdulfattah

Special contributor

Ghada Abdulfattah is a Gaza-based journalist, story-teller, and multimedia producer. From across the Gaza Strip, she chronicles the stories, hopes, dreams, and struggles of her people.

A former Fulbright Scholar, Ghada elevates the voices of Palestinians in challenging circumstances, including blockades and war. She also strives to inform and inspire by shedding light on the rich Palestinian culture and everyday-life in Gaza.
Ghada holds a BA in English language and literature from the Islamic University of Gaza and an MA in public affairs and international development from Indiana University.

When she’s not chasing stories, Ghada enjoys swimming (in pools, not the sea), reading, watching films, and gardening with her father. Ghada is also an aunt to two dozen nieces and nephews. She likes to share stories, but not so much her cherished olive oil, pressed from her family’s trees in central Gaza, which Ghada describes as “too precious to share.”
