Jules Struck

Jules Struck is a current master's student of journalism at Emerson College in Boston. She holds a degree in French and international studies with a concentration on globalization and sustainability from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. She has freelanced for local news outlet around Boston and interned for Boston Magazine, the Patriot Ledger in Quincy, and Voice of America.

Jules was co-editor-in-chief of her college newspaper, the Dickinsonian, and that's where she discovered a love of local news. On weekends she explores the woodsy pockets of greater Boston to slow down from the bustle of the newsroom, and to think up story ideas.

Why is Christian Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

The Church publishes the Monitor because it sees good journalism as vital to progress in the world. Since 1908, we’ve aimed “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind,” as our founder, Mary Baker Eddy, put it.

Here, you’ll find award-winning journalism not driven by commercial influences – a news organization that takes seriously its mission to uplift the world by seeking solutions and finding reasons for credible hope.
