Nick Roll comes to the Monitor after working on the Massachusetts coronavirus response for Partners in Health and serving as a health extension agent during his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal. Prior to his stint in public health, Nick covered higher education at Inside Higher Ed and worked at Ohio State’s student newspaper, The Lantern.
In college, Nick majored in international studies and reported on finance, elections and arts stories. At Inside Higher Ed, he focused on the intersection of higher education, politics, and culture. He kept a blog while serving in Senegal, and has freelanced for the South African newspaper the Mail & Guardian.
When not reading or writing, Nick enjoys baking, fishing, video chatting with friends in Senegal and Uganda, and online shopping.
