Nusmila Lohani

Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nusmila Lohani arrived in New York in pursuit of her master's degree in journalism. Nusmila graduated from Columbia Journalism School in 2019. Before coming to the United States, she served as an editorial assistant of a national daily newspaper, Dhaka Tribune, for three years. 

Prior to her journalism career, Nusmila graduated from Brac University with undergraduate degrees in economics and English literature. She also dabbled in the teaching profession during her college days in Dhaka. Nusmila's primary interests in journalism include education, culture, and climate change; and her favorite ice-breaker is talking about horror movies.
