Pavithra Rajesh is a third year student at Northeastern University in Boston, majoring in journalism with a minor in theatre.

Born in Chennai, India, she moved around frequently, to Manila, Philippines; Bangkok; Caracas, Venezuela; Mumbai, India; Bangalore, India; and then to Boston. Her early exposure to varied cultures propelled her pursuit of storytelling as a way of connecting people. She hopes to use journalism to uplift and bring awareness to overlooked voices and ideas, reflecting the true diversity of the world.

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
