Ryan Yu

Ryan Yu is an editorial intern entering his senior year at Amherst College, where he majors in political science, mathematics, and film and media studies. Based just outside of Toronto, Ryan brings an international perspective to his reporting, in which he focuses on education, technology, and culture. He is currently editor-in-chief of The Amherst Student, his college newspaper, where he has contributed since his freshman year.

During his free time, Ryan enjoys making music, thinking of new film ideas, or designing video games. Ryan also closely follows global politics, and is sharpening his semi-fluent French and Chinese language skills as he looks to the future. In addition, he loves reading long-form journalism, and welcomes suggestions for readings at any time.

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
