Vaishnavi Chandrashekhar is a freelance journalist based in Mumbai, India. She previously worked with The Christian Science Monitor as a staff editor on the national news desk in Boston from 2008-2010. She was a reporter and writer with The Times of India in Mumbai from 1998-2006, covering a range of urban, social and environmental issues. More recently, she was the editor of the fortnightly magazine Time Out Mumbai from 2010-2012. She has a master's in journalism from Columbia University.
