Tsutomu Yamaguchi, a technical draftsmen, was sent from Nagasaki to Hiroshima with two co-workers to check some blueprints and designs. Yamaguchi forgot the stamp he used on designs and went back for it, telling his co-workers to go on without him. He was in a field when the first bomb hit. His co-workers also survived and the three commandeered a power launch to get home. Yamaguchi was badly burned but still went to work the next day, when the other bomb hit. Yamaguchi climbed out a window to get out of his building and managed to make it home, though he was burned again.
