Brian Selznick's 2007 book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" was the basis for the film "Hugo," which has been nominated for Best Picture; Best Director (Martin Scorsese); Best Cinematography; Best Art Direction; Best Costume Design; Best Film Editing; Best Original Score; Best Sound Editing; Best Sound Mixing; Best Visual Effects; and Best Adapted Screenplay.
