9. "Blithe Spirit," by Noël Coward

Written during the Second World War, this lively and clever farce about death filled London's theaters. The story begins when a writer decides to hold a séance in order to do research for a novel he is writing about a villainous sham psychic. Nothing could have prepared him for who appears – none other than his first wife, who has been dead for six years and is none too pleased that he now has a second wife.
