The Christian Science Monitor: Its History, Mission, and People, by Keith Collins, is an extraordinary piece of work. I thought I knew all there was to know about the Monitor, but learned more about the founder’s plan and thinking for the paper than I had ever known before.
Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
