A new trailer for the upcoming Starz TV adaptation of the “Outlander” series shows more of protagonist Claire’s travels in time.
The “Outlander” series by Diana Gabaldon follows Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married former nurse living in 1945 who travels back in time to eighteenth-century Scotland. While there, she meets and falls in love with Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and is torn between staying there and going back to her husband, Frank (“Game of Thrones” actor Tobias Menzies).
The new clip shows Claire’s life with Frank as Claire herself speaks in voiceover.
“People disappear all the time,” she says. “Most are found eventually. Disappearances, after all, have explanations – usually.”
The trailer shows Claire being taken to Castle Leoch, the home of the MacKenzie clan and Jamie’s relatives.
“You need not be scared so long as I’m with you,” Jamie tells Claire.
“And when you’re not with me?” she asks him.
“Be careful,” he says.
The “Outlander” TV adaptation premieres this summer. Check out the full trailer here.
