Actress Anna Kendrick will reportedly write a book of essays, to be released in 2016.
The book will be released by Touchstone in the fall of that year. Kendrick will talk about “memorable moments from her life,” according to the publisher.
“I'm excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I'd like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself," Kendrick said of the upcoming project in a press release. "And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I'm very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon?”
The actress has almost 4 million followers on Twitter and some of her recent topics of discussion on the website include “Star Wars,” “Game of Thrones,” and Stouffer's commercials.
Kendrick has starred in various movie musicals, including this year’s musical film “The Last Five Years” and the 2014 movie “Into the Woods,” which was adapted from the famous Stephen Sondheim musical of the same name. The actress also starred in such movies as the 2012 comedy “Pitch Perfect,” which centered on college a cappella groups; the “Twilight” movie series; and the 2009 film “Up in the Air,” for which she earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. She is set to appear in a sequel to “Pitch Perfect,” which will be released this May.
Monitor film critic Peter Rainer called Kendrick’s performance in “Woods” “a bit vanilla for my taste” but Jocelyn Noveck of the Associated Press called the actress “fast-rising” in a review of “Years,” writing that Kendrick is “charming and quirky and altogether irresistible.”
