2. Harvard

McArthur Hall, a housing facility for students in Harvard's executive education program, is shown in this 2008 file photo. After several years at the No.1 spot, Harvard's graduate business school fell to No. 2 this year.

It may create something of a panic in Harvard yard: The mighty business school is no longer No. 1. The school’s overall score slipped two notches, according to US News, allowing another business school to move into sole possession of first place from a tie with Harvard last year. But Harvard still holds the No.1 ranking for management, according to US News. The Princeton Review ranks it as the “best administered” business school and also No. 1 in offering the “best career prospects.” Like US News, Bloomberg Businessweek ranks Harvard No. 2, but its No. 1 business school is the University of Chicago, which US News ranks No. 5.

Students at Harvard’s business school can earn a Ph.D., MBA, or enroll in executive education courses. Students can also enroll in joint-degree programs with Harvard’s schools of law, medicine, dentistry, or government. There are currently 1,840 students enrolled, and tuition is $48,600.
