Hyundai Santa Fe helps Hyundai make list of best-loved car brands

Valentine's Day may be over, but Americans are still in love ... with their cars.
According to market research firm Strategic Vision (via The Car Connection), the Tesla Model S electric luxury sedan is the single "most-loved car" in the U.S.
And, surprising to some, not only luxury brand Cadillac and but Korean upstart Hyundai joined Tesla Motors in the top three brands that U.S. car buyers adore most.
While matters of the heart are usually considered subjective, Strategic Vision attempted to quantify buyers' affinity for specific models and brands by asking survey participants to rate their feelings on a scale of 1 ("Hate It") to 7 ("Love It").
Customers were polled on different aspects of the ownership experience, including satisfaction and brand loyalty.
However, Strategic Vision did not reveal how many respondents there were, nor did it say specifically when the polling was done. Perhaps that would have ruined the romance?
In the end, the Model S received a "Love Score" of 852 out of 1,000, while the Cadillac Escalade ESV came in second place with a score of 772 and was named most-loved luxury SUV.
The Model S wasn't the only green car on the list, though.
The Nissan Leaf electric car and Toyota Prius C hybrid received scores of 541 and 540, respectively, and tied for the title of most-loved "small alternative powertrain" car.
With a score of 601, the Chevrolet Volt was named most-loved "midsize alternative powertrain" car.
Hyundai had the highest number of well-loved vehicles on the list of any carmaker, with its Elantra GT, Equus, Genesis, Sonata, and Santa Fe getting much love from owners in their respective categories.
