Don't believe everything you hear about Yemen.

5. 'Alongside diplomats, ministers, and civil servants, top-ranking military commanders have now joined the protesters.'

Yes, indeed. But this doesn’t spell the seeds of democracy or a victory for the Yemeni people. Amidst objectors of conscience to the over-kill bloodletting of last Friday, henchmen of the regime have now pledged to join the reform movement. Even the Saudis, spoilers rather than honest brokers of peace, suspect that top military commanders like Maj. Gen. Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar have defected from Saleh’s sinking administration in hopes of seizing power. Let’s not confuse them with progressive forces.
