Few franchises, in any media, can compete with the Boy Who Lived. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the seventh and final book in the young wizard series, made 11 million copies disappear from bookstores on its first day.
With price tags averaging about $18, the novel earned an estimated $198 million. Chalk that up as the closest gross yet. But with nearly double the sales, Harry's many enchanted fans are probably comfortable with the 1-to-1 tie.
