In July 2012, Sen. Ron Wyden secured the declassification of two statements from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that acknowledged the FISC had found some information gathering procedures were “unreasonable under the Fourth Amendment” and that the government had “circumvented the spirit” of FISA.
