The video game developer Capcom took the wraps off a bunch of new projects today, including the forthcoming "Bionic Commando Rearmed," the sequel to a remake of a Nintendo cult classic. (Got that?) But the title that has really captured the attention of game geeks is the poorly-titled "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds," which should hit sometime in the spring of 2011, barring any production delays.

Details on "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" – set for release on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 – are scarce. We know from the trailer that the fighting game will include the usual suspects, including the Wolverine, Iron Man, Chris Redfield from the Resident Evil franchise, and an absolutely huge version of the Hulk. According to the official Capcom blog, "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" will feature "signature combos" and a 3-on-3 tag-team brawl option.

The trailer doesn't provide much insight into the gameplay, but Capcom says the game will appear in "living comic book art style," which blurs "the boundaries between 2D and 3D graphics." Think a traditional side-scroller with some extra depth and intricately-rendered backdrops.

Of course, "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3" isn't the only major title expected to hit in 2011. Earlier this month, Gears of War franchise creator Cliff Bleszinski was on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to discuss "Gears of War 3," the long-awaited follow-up to 2008's mature-rated blockbuster "Gears of War 2." According to Bleszinski, "Gears of War 3" will pit COG soldiers against a species of monster called the Lambent.

"Graphics are the thing that pull people in," Bleszinski told Mr. Fallon. "But what ultimately matters is gameplay."

Talk to us. What do you want out of "Marvel Vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds"? Which character would you most like to see on the small screen? Take a look at the trailer, and drop us a line in the comments section.
