The 2012 film directed by Josh Trank follows a group of friends as they encounter a strange object and find themselves with new powers soon afterward. Soon before the film's release, New York residents were collectively confused when many people thought they saw figures flying through the air, but the stunt was part of promotion for 'Chronicle' and the flying people were actually RC places shaped like humans.
