9. Talented, sharp-dressed, and Marvin Gaye: This is it, folks, our winner

What feelings of worry I had for the girl as she was escorted, sternly, to a chair by three men soon evaporated and became the tears this girl started to cry when she saw her prom date-to-be in position on the stage. Dressed in a white shirt and tie (which my mother will tell you is a staple in a gentleman's wardrobe), he starts to dance and, unlike many, many, many of the other promposals, dances well. I was saying yes before the Marvin Gaye came on.
