Wes Anderson's 2009 adaptation of the classic Ronald Dahl book, "Fantastic Mr. Fox" is visually stunning, featuring what Monitor critic Peter Rainer calls "a sophisticated puppet primitivism backdropped by near-psychedelic colorations." It features the story of a clever fox and his band of wildlife accomplices who make a living stealing food from a tyrannical neighorhood farmer. Children will be drawn in by the slapstick exploits of the critters, and parents will enjoy the "adept voice-work" of actors like Meryl Streep and George Clooney, as well as Mr. Fox's dry sense of humor.
