On Oct. 31, the website Politico published allegations that two unnamed women had accused Cain of sexual harassment during his time at the National Restaurant Association in the late 1990s and had received cash settlements. In an appearance on Fox News, Cain did not mince words in his response.
"I've never sexually harassed anyone, and yes, I was falsely accused while I was at the National Restaurant Association," he said on Fox News.
"It is totally baseless, and totally false, never have I committed any sort of sexual harassment," he added.
Since then, two more accusers have come forward – one anonymous and one publicly, Sharon Bialek. Cain claims not even to remember Ms. Bialek.
In a press conference Nov. 8, Cain echoed his statement of Oct. 31, saying, "I have never acted inappropriately with anyone, period.”
