Jay Leno interviewed President Obama on The Tonight Show March 19, 2009. His new show begins Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC.

What does the owner of the most watched chin on TV think about the evolution of political satire? How does the late night talk show host feel about the Web's viral video phenomenon? What's his take on the blurring of news and comedy over the past 50 years?

I sat down with Jay Leno on a recent stop in Boston to promote his new show, which airs weeknights at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, starting Sept. 14.

Check back later this week for a Monitor cover story: Jay Leno’s new show and the rise of political humor.
