In a 2009 World Cup-qualifying match versus Ireland, French soccer star Thierry Henry used his hand to control the ball and pass it to a teammate for the game-winning goal. France got its comeuppance in the World Cup this past summer, being summarily drummed out of the competition without even reaching the knockout round.
