The FARC’s top military chief, Jorge Briceño known as "Mono Jojoy," was killed with 20 other FARC guerrillas in September of 2010. The raid took place in La Macarena, in southern Colombia. At the time, President Santos called it the most “resounding blow” ever against the guerrilla army to date.
