Mladic faces the prospect of spending the rest of his life in detention, but as detention centers go, the 'Hague Hilton,' as it is sometimes called, is not a bad place to be.

In most prisons, you eat what you get – and what you get isn't so good. In Mladic’s new pad, “detained persons are provided with suitably prepared food that satisfies in quantity and quality the standards of dietetics and modern hygiene,” according to the website of the International Criminal Court.

If that food isn’t up to an inmate’s standards, he can buy more food on the detention center’s shopping list so that he can prepare or have prepared for him meals that are better suited to his “taste and cultural requirements.”
